The Computer and Information Science department at Midstate College prepares graduates for entry-level positions that require knowledge of the fundamental concepts of business related software applications and computer maintenance. The Computer and Information Science Degree trains students to be users or support users of computers in a business or professional environment. Students receive education and hands-on training in the operation, maintenance and management of computer information systems.

Midstate College offers the student the opportunity to tailor their area of study to the technology that is of particular interest to them. Three professional diploma programs are available each customized to a specific discipline within the Information Technology field. In addition the Associates Degree offers specialties in Networking, Programming, and Web Development. Moreover, Midstate College courses prepare students for several computer industry certifications. Certification payoffs come in the form of salary increases, better job opportunities, added confidence and additional skills that allow students to move into new areas of expertise.
