 ritis Foundation\nSpeaker Presentations \nOnce per term PBL will spons
 or a business-related speaker to come on-campus. PBL members will plan
  and host the evening and introduce the speaker. The dates scheduled f
 or the 2013 year are as follows:\nSpring Term – May 7 (Week 11)\nSum
 mer Term – July 2 (Week 7)\nFall Term – October 1 (Week 7)\nWinter
  Term – December 3 (Week 4)\n\nAll Business and Accounting instructo
 rs will be bringing their classes scheduled on these dates to attend t
 he speaker presentation in Room 303 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Once the 
 presentation is completed, classes will resume. Attendance will be tak
 en\nfor the presentation as part of the class for the evening. The pre
 sentations are being provided to enhance the students learning experie
 nce. Refreshments will be provided between 5:30 and 6:00 as students a
 nd instructors gather for the presentation. \n\nLocal Service Project 
 – Arthritis Foundation\nPBL will be joining Midstate College in supp
 orting the Arthritis Foundation. Partnering with the Arthritis Foundat
 ion has opened up multiple opportunities for our students. June 1, Mid
 state will be hosting the 2nd annual\nArthritis Walk/Dog Walk at Midst
 ate and the Rock Island Trail. \n\nOur partnership with the Arthritis 
 Foundation can provide the following opportunities:\n\nInternships in 
 Business or AccountingVolunteer Opportunities for the Arthritis Walk/D
 og Walk, Bone Bash, and Jingle Bell Run\n\nCommittee participation: Ev
 ent Committee, Team Recruitment, Sponsorship, Public Relations, Logist
 ics, and more\n\nResume building through community service, volunteeri
 sm, and internship experiencesInside view of a non-profit organization
  and how they are operatedTeam building skill developmentPoints earned
  towards the Student Volunteer/Achievement Program\n\nOpportunities ar
 e available whether you have a couple of hours once a month to volunte
 er or several days during the month.\n\nCollege Sponsored Events\nPBL 
 members will be presented with opportunities to support the college in
  events such as the Business Department Meet &amp; Greet, Orientation,
  Open Houses, 125th Year Celebration, and more.\n\nIncentives and Rewa
 rds\nIncentives and rewards come through participation in PBL. Members
  will receive their recognition pin and certificate; merit system ince
 ntives will be awarded annually; Student Volunteer/Achievement Program
  (SVAP) awards are ongoing; and the rewards for\nparticipating in volu
 nteering, community service, leadership roles, conferences, and the li
 ke are rewards that last a lifetime.\n\nFees\nAll business and account
 ing students are encouraged to enroll as a student member in the Phi B
 eta Lambda organization. This membership is important to the developme
 nt of professionalism and leadership in students attending our busines
 s and accounting\nprograms.\n\nStudent membership is $18.00 national a
 nd $7.00 local for a total of $25.00 annuallyDues can be incorporated
