AH155: Mathematics for Medications - 4 Hours

Prerequisite: 1 of MAT001, MAT101; or 17 on Fundamentals of Math

This course contains only a brief review of basic math skills. The focus of this course is on metric, apothecary and household measurements and using dimensional analysis to convert between systems. Calculation of oral and parenteral medication for adults, children, and special populations are covered. Other important areas include abbreviations for pharmaceuticals, reading labels and medication orders, drawing up medication and accurately reading syringes.
