Biography

My name is Jim Stokes, and I teach Accounting at Midstate College. I am a lifelong Peorian, In fact I grew up and live currently less than two blocks from campus! I attended Richwoods High School, and hold a Bachelor's Degree from Bradley University in Business Administration and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Illinois. I have also written the CPA exam.

I have been married to Carla for 33 years as of next June. She stood by me and literally saved my life while I was battling cancer from 2005 on. The administration and staff here at Midstate were also wonderful during that struggle, which is unfortunately ongoing. I enjoy playing golf and love to travel, as it is a broadening experience.

I have taught accounting at Midstate for 12 years now, and I love the school and the students. This is a very special place, and the concern for the students comes to us from the administration on down.
