Biography
I was born in Peoria and have lived my whole life in Central Illinois. I graduated from Sparland High School, Illinois Central College and University of Illinois Springfield. I was a non-traditional student attending classes as an adult while working full-time, so I understand the challenges it can bring to a student. Most of my career has been involved in or around Caterpillar, where I have worked in various fields including Human Resources, Logistics, Project Management, Inventory Control, and Purchasing. In my spare time I enjoy photography, movies, music, cooking, and volunteering in my community. I have been actively involved for several years in the Peoria Jaycees serving as the Newsletter Editor, Community Development Vice President, Membership Vice President, Individual Development Vice President, Management Vice President and served as the 2007 President and 2008 Chairman of the Board. My most recent position I have had the honor of serving as the Awards Chairman for the Illinois Jaycees. I have been actively involved in many community projects through the Jaycees and chairing several of them. Just a few of them are the Detweiller Easter Egg Hunt, Firecracker 5000 Race, Rock the Boat, the Expo Gardens Haunted House and The International Beer Festival at Expo Gardens. I have also volunteered with many other community organizations including the WTVP Live Auction, MS Carnivale, Prairie Air Show, The Red Cross, and the Center for Prevention Duck Race, just to name a few. I believe in giving back to our community and I have gained many leadership skills, had many networking opportunities and made many friendships thanks to my involvement .
I am new to Midstate and looking forward to teaching classes this fall. I love the friendly family atmosphere!
