Growing up in a family of entrepreneurs, I realized quickly that learning had to be a life-long commitment. I’ve worked hard to blend my love of business and education into a career. My professional experiences range from restaurant executive manager to public school teacher. I hold a seat on many boards and committees throughout the community, chair a non-for-profit organization, and volunteer often.

Midstate College is the perfect place to expand and share my passion and experience. My primary responsibility is supporting and educating our students. From scheduling to tutoring, or simply being someone to talk to who understands, students’ needs come first. I always encourage our students to call, write, or stop by to keep me posted on how their classes are going. I also enjoy the many projects I’m involved in that are instrumental in keeping our Business Administration Department’s curriculum, technology, resources, and faculty on the forefront of ever-evolving business education programs.

With a degree and personal hobby/passion for studying history, I was a high school history teacher for 5 years before making the move to higher education. I occasionally teach, or guest lecture in, the areas of U.S. history, western civilization, and local Peoria history. As I tell my students the first day of class, History is typically that “boring class you slept through in high school... NOT ANYMORE.” My goal has always been to combat that stigma with a fun, energetic, and engaging class where students can truly enhance all of their skills; not just rote memorization of people and dates.

I also hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Illinois. I teach a wide variety of courses in business, management, marketing, and human resources within the Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Administration Programs. I’m looking forward to continuing my education by pursuing a doctoral degree in the near future. I am very proud to be a part of the Midstate Family!
