Michael was raised in New Jersey by a parents who were both PhD Chemists. After high school, Michael attended Kalamazoo College in Michigan where he decided to rebel against his upbringing and major in physics and math. (Michael was never very good at rebelling) While at Kalamazoo he discovered he discovered he liked explaining math and physics much more than breaking equipment in the lab and decided to go into teaching. He graduated in 2002 and taught math and physics courses at the high school level until 2010. Michael went back to school for a Masters in Mathematics at Illinois State University where he graduated in 2012. Since then, he has been a part time adjunct at Illinois Central College and now Midstate and part time stay-at-home dad.
While at Kalamazoo College, Michael found the love of his life, Anne. (He introduced himself because she had a Star Trek calendar and gummy bears) They were married in 2003 and he decided to follow her around while she attended medical school in St. Louis and residency in Peoria. They have two sons who are only occasionally brats.
Michael loves science, science fiction, fantasy, and running. He's done 11 marathons and is a St. Jude runner. He's a great dad, a great teacher, and grows more intelligent, charming, and handsome with each passing day. You can be sure of this since he's taken the time to write this little biography and his dedication to absolute impartiality is legendary.
