Rebecca Tuxhorn is a central Illinois native, born and raised in an agricultural family. Her focus on education began a little later than 'traditional' students, and she continues to pursue a higher degree today. Her passion is teaching and interacting with students. Rebecca earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice in 2009 from University of Illinois Springfield. She earned a Master of Arts degree in 2012 from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, majoring in Sociology with a focus on Criminal Justice Studies. She is currently enrolled as a Doctoral candidate in the Sociology program at Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a projected graduation date in 2020. Her teaching and research interests include gender in agriculture, gender in the criminal justice system, and social justice issues including race and ethnicity, and structural inequalities.
